Ian R. Lazarus, FACHE
Ian is the President & CEO of Creato Performance Solutions (www.creato.com), a company that supplies leadership development, performance improvement training, and hosted solutions to assist companies in their pursuit of operational excellence. This follows a successful career in management that included long-term employment with Voluntary Hospitals of America, Kaiser Permanente, and McKesson. His last corporate role at McKesson was as Director of International Business Operations where he worked extensively in Europe, the Middle East and Australia, including work with the National Health Service of the United Kingdom to establish a national nurse advice line. Ian left McKesson in 1998 to establish Creato.
In addition to leading the execution of Creato’s strategic vision, Ian is responsible for raising the company’s visibility on the national stage, and is recognized as an author and public speaker on issues related to performance improvement. He has served on the faculty of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) for over 20 years, and recently received their Distinguished Service Award, the highest level of recognition they confer for voluntary service. Ian currently conducts two-day programs on Lean and Six Sigma at regional seminars on behalf of ACHE all over the world, most recently in UAE and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He has over 50 published articles to his credit and is currently a monthly columnist for Quality Magazine. In his speaking and writing, Ian always takes time to recognize the work of Creato clients, assisting them to achieve national recognition for their work in performance improvement.
In addition to his writing, Ian is a sought-after keynote speaker for national events and has presided over audiences as a speaker for ACHE, ASQ, AHA, HFMA and a multitude of niche conferences and state-level organizations. His sessions are routinely recognized for being practical, inspirational, and thought-provoking.
Ian is board certified in healthcare management from the ACHE, and holds a Master’s degree in healthcare management from the University of Michigan. He is also a certified Six Sigma black belt. In 2011, Ian was recognized by The San Diego Business Journal as one of the region’s most accomplished “Health Care Champions.”
